Star-Wars-The-Force-Awakens-Kylo-RenIssue 133: Welcome to the start of the fourth quarter of the year. Just think, in 3 months time it will be 2016 (and we will all be regaling about The Force Awakens and how awesome Kylo Ren is). First, before we are fully immersed in the extraordinary Star Wars universe, we must first have BlizzCon. Unfortunately that also is still a few weeks away, but the road to BlizzCon has begun. Don’t forget to get your tickets and pick up your goodie bag!

The road to BlizzCon, however, is not yet paved with headlines. In fact this posting is later than normal as there wasn’t a lot showing up in my feeds that really warranted a spotlight. Neverwinter does make the list again because R. A. Salvatore (one of my favorite fantasy authors) is apparently involved with the development of this game. WildStar’s F2P patch finally launches. Blizzard makes paid character services a little less cumbersome. So there are a few goodies in here. KCGO.

Drizzt Coming To Neverwinter

Posted 9.29.15 – If you are a fan of R. A. Salvatore or a fan of the Forgotten Realms lore, get ready to see a familiar Drow face in Neverwinter. Drizzt will be making an appearance in the upcoming expansion, called Underdark. The best part is the storyline in the game was written by Salvatore himself!! You will be able to get said expansion this fall, unless you are playing it on the XBox One, then you have to wait a little longer.

WildStar: Reloaded Launches

Posted 9.29.15 – The Free-2-Play patch of WildStar is officially live. Granted the new business model isn’t the only thing that was part of this patch, in fact it was quite a large patch for the game. There were several significant improvements such as client optimization, cash shop, daily rewards, a solo instance, etc. So if you’ve wanted to check out WildStar, now would be the time to do it.

WoW: In-Game Shop Expanded

pepe-wowPosted 9.30.15 – Blizzard has expanded the in-game shop; but not with more pets and mounts (sadly). They have added some of the paid character services. You can now perform faction changes, race changes, name changes and gender changes (which will be cheaper than it would have cost Bruce Jenner). These services are only available from the character selection screen (which makes sense, you can’t exactly make a graphical change while logged into the game).

PreOrder Star Wars Battlefront

Posted 10.1.15 – If you own an XBox One then you can now preorder a digital copy of Star Wars Battlefront. If you have an EA Access subscription you can also save 10% ($54 instead of $60). Also, don’t forget that the beta starts in just a few days and new DLC will be coming after The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18th! MTFBWY

SWTOR Level-Scaling Coming

Posted 10.1.15 – The folks at Bioware have caused another controversial flame war. In the upcoming expansion, Knight of the Fallen Empire, a player’s level will scale down based on the planet you are visiting. I’m not sure how I feel about this. It remains to be seen if this includes max level characters or just characters that are still leveling. It would make more sense if it only applied to characters not at a max level as some end-game quests have been known to take you back to lower level planets. It has caused quite an uproar.  Ls-purple-black-core

EverQuest II’s 12th Expansion

Posted 10.2.15 – While Blizzard is working on World of Warcraft’s 6th expansion, EverQuest II has a release date for its 12th expansion. If you’re playing EverQuest II then on November 17th Terrors of Thalumbra will be hitting the live servers. Unfortunately if you are also waiting for Star Wars Battlefront then you’re going to have to choose what to play since it has the same release date. The expansion adds a new area to explore, new dungeons, new collections and new gear, however, it does not raise the level cap.
