Issue 76: No, I’m not scrapping The MMO Times, its just a headline that encapsulates the big story in this issue. Blizzard seems to be going through some rough times. First down another 1million+ WoW subscriptions, then Diablo III auction house issues and now Titan. You can read more about what has happened with Titan (if you haven’t heard yet) later in this issue.
Titan seems to be the only thing folks are talking about because details about the 5.4 patch are coming at a slow trickle. Fear not though gamers, there are plenty of other things happening with our other favorite titles, current and upcoming. Games like SWTOR, Infinite Crisis, and Marvel Heroes. Don’t forget, E3 is right around the corner and there could be all sorts goodies revealed (E3 starts June 11th and will be at the LA Convention Center – anyone going?) which may also explain the lack of significant gaming news.
More Details for TSW Issue 7 & 8
Posted 5.31.13 – A couple issues back I found a headline about Issue #7 for The Secret World, and its James Bond themed context. Well, now they have a name for it and an approximate release date. Director Joel Bylos talks about what players can expect in Issue #7 and he also alludes to the next update, Issue #8 which apparently will contain an Augment System. Interesting.

Marvel Heroes Early Access Is Live, Finally
Posted 5.30.13 – If you were among those who expected to be able to log in on the 28th for your early access to Marvel Heroes only to discover that it was delayed, you can now relax. The issues the game was experiencing that prevented players from logging in has been resolved and early access is officially live. Gazillion apologized for the inconvenience and is looking into some form of compensation.

New Blizzard Pet Store Mount!
Posted 5.30.13 – I am a total sucker for pet store mounts and this one will probably sucker me in again. The Armored Bloodwing mount is now available for purchase from the Blizzard Pet Store. This thing looks pretty ugly and pretty bad ass; its as if you were flying on a vampire bat!

Live! SWTOR Game Update 2.1.1 Live
Posted 5.29.13 – SWTOR recently released Game Update 2.1.1 which essentially tweaked a few rewards and fixed a few bugs. This is just a minor patch so there won’t be any major functionality changes but if you are curious about what has been fixed, Darth Hater has the patch notes for your perusal.

Cyborg Added to Infinite Crisis
Posted 5.28.13 – Whenever I think of Cyborg I immediately think of Teen Titans. Yes, I watched Teen Titans, its a cool cartoon, lay off! At any rate, Cyborg is now a playable champion in the upcoming DC title Infinite Crisis. I don’t know if anyone has participated in the beta for this game yet, but it looks a lot like League of Legends, expect with a DC Comics influence. Check out the video of the Cyborg champion.

**Big Story!** Titan Gets Scrapped; Starting Over
Posted 5.28.13 – I’m sure everyone has already heard this shocking news about Blizzard’s secret work-in-progress title, Titan. It has been scrapped! Blizzard announced that they will be essentially going back to the drawing board to start the project over completely; the new expected release time-frame is 2016. They only cited that large design changes were the reason for their decision; as a software developer myself, I certainly can appreciate the difficulty of such a decision. So clearly any details regarding what Titan is/was will not be unveiled at BlizzCon which begs the question ‘what will be the big announcement?‘ Perhaps the next WoW expansion?
