The MMO Times: Heroes Assemble!

mmotimesheaderIIIssue 77:Instead of finding a headline about Marvel Heroes, I thought I would remind everyone here, Marvel Heroes went live this week (in case you didn’t know)! I haven’t tried it out yet but I haven’t heard anything bad about it, usually if something is bad the first thing gamers do is whine about it online. In fact I’ve heard that if you enjoy League of Legends that you will really enjoy Marvel Heroes! If anyone out there has an opinion about the game so far, I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts.

You will notice that June 4th was quite a newsworthy day; it was not only the day that Marvel Heroes went live but there were quite a few announcements and some pre-E3 trailers unveiled. There is some RIFT, Aion and World of Warships news, an announcement from Blizzard and Bioware, and more! Check it out!

Gauntlgrym trailer Neverwinter Launch Date Announced

Posted 6.6.13 – Cryptic officially announced the launch date for their Free-2-Play MMO will be June 20th! If you haven’t checked out this game, the graphics are really cool and I think the game play is pretty fun. This game has been talked about quite a bit as a possible solid competitor with World of Warcraft; many have boasted that before so we shall see. There is a trailer for the level 60 Gauntlgrym content which will give you an idea of the video quality of this game.

Bioware Shutting Down APAC Servers

Posted 6.5.13 – I can’t remember if I posted the headline about Bioware offering server transfers off of SWTOR APAC servers, which happened a couple weeks ago. Apparently the motivation behind it is because they plan on shutting down all of their APAC servers. I don’t think this is an omen for SWTOR as its quite expensive to keep Asia and Australia servers running especially if the market isn’t that big. Of course the trolls will come out with their usual “I told you so” and “fail” rhetoric but just ignore them.

Blizzard At SDCC

Posted 6.4.13 – Blizzard has announced that they will be at the San Diego Comic-Con showing off some of their new products and signing autographs. There are Comic-Con’s all over the country, but the SDCC is always one of the biggest ones. I’ve never been to a Comic-Con but its definitely one of those things on my bucket list. Anyone going?

Dark Betrayal Trailer Aion 4.0 Teaser Trailer

Posted 6.4.13 – It’s hard to believe that we are already up to version 4 of Aion. I remember playing this game in its beta. Now NC Soft has released the latest trailer ahead of E3 to introduce players to its upcoming expansion called Dark Betrayal, which is due out later this month. The trailer does look pretty cool. [UPDATE: I received an email that suggested the launch date for Dark Betrayal is June 26th.]

World of Warships Trailer World of Warships Trailer

Posted 6.4.13 – If you are a fan of Wargaming.net games then you may be excited to see the latest cinematic trailer for their upcoming World of Warships game. I don’t think I can say it enough, the graphics quality of these games is phenomenal! I wonder what Wargaming.net has planned next week as this trailer was released in preparation for E3.

F2P Indefinite For Current RIFT Players

Posted 6.4.13 – If you are a current account owner for RIFT, the Free-2-Play option is now available for you. As you may or may not be aware, RIFT will be converting to a F2P model on June 12th and this last weekend Trion had a free weekend. Well they decided to extend that free weekend until said launch date. So, enjoy!

Movie Review: Star Trek Into Darkness

  1. I’d love to read it but it won’t load

  2. Are you trying to access it from a computer or on your phone?

  3. I removed two widgets that might be causing a loading issue, if you still can’t access it then you have something set in your browser that is causing it not to load

  4. I installed a plugin that will convert the site to work better on mobile devices so hopefully that will resolve the issues for those trying to read it on their phones.
