Issue 72: After an extremely stressful week from all fronts of life on top of being sick with food poisoning, the MMO Times is back to bring you all some gaming news. Well, the headlines of gaming news that is. Life lesson, even if coffee has been in the freezer, don’t drink it if its over a year old, it can make you sick. It’s especially upsetting if you are a coffee lover. But I digress.
There are a few titles hitting their beta periods that you might want to check out. There is already a SWTOR patch coming out after the launch of its first expansion (which I guess was pretty successful). A new issue for The Secret World and other gaming goodies. Check it out, gamers!
New and Heroic Scenarios in 5.3
Posted 5.2.13 – In the upcoming 5.3 patch for World of Warcraft, players will be receiving four new scenarios that will continue the lore storyline leading up to the epic expansion conclusion in the 5.4 patch. This patch will also introduce heroic scenarios of which there will be six (the four new ones and two existing ones). There will be a gear limit to participate in heroic scenarios (just as there is for queuing for dungeons).

Neverwinter’s Open Beta Starts
Posted 5.1.13 – The D&D inspired MMO, Neverwinter, is officially in open beta. If you are interested in this game then you might want to hop over and get started because this open beta is actually more of a “soft launch” in that there will be No Character Wipes. So whatever you create in the open beta will still be available when the game officially goes live. That’s pretty cool. Some say this might be the first game to rival World of Warcraft.

SWTOR Patch 2.1: Customization
Posted 5.1.13 – I’ve been feeling pretty upset with SWTOR lately. I haven’t bought the expansion yet because I’m still feeling kind of jipped by their F2P model, even toward those that were playing the game from launch. It feels like its lost its luster. At any rate, be that as it may there are some cool new features coming in 2.1 that, hopefully, won’t cost a bunch of cartel coins for both paid and F2P players (like the new race, which is also a rip off). The patch is called Customization, so you can imagine its probably got a few new goodies for your characters look.

Infinite Crisis Closed Beta
Posted 5.1.13 – If you are looking forward to the new DC MOBA title then you might want check out the upcoming closed beta hitting servers May 8th. They are currently accepting sign ups at the official website (the link for that is below with the article link). So if you want to play Batman vs Steam-Punk Batman then I would head on over and check it out. I don’t know if I will have time but I would be interested to hear from anyone that does (that is, of course, if there isn’t an NDA).

TSW Issue #7 Goes Bond, James Bond
Posted 4.30.13 – I have to admit, there is something about The Secret World that sometimes has me coming back to play it. Granted I haven’t played it a lot lately because of other external reasons but some of these new issues really make the game intriguing. The next issue will take players to Transylvania and the game will have a very 007 feel though you will be hunting werewolves (I wonder what kind of gadgets Q would come up with for such a nemesis).
