Andor Episode 10

Title: One Way Out
Director: Toby Haynes

Time for the great escape. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry will be watching this episode (IYKYK). It’s hard to believe we only have two episodes left after this one and then we have to wait until 2024 for Season 2! Be that as it may, let’s discuss the events of Andor Episode 10.

This is another exceptional episode. Some great edge-of-your-seat action and suspense. There is also more exceptional acting, which I will get to later. This episode is everything I wanted in a Star Wars-themed prison break. You really get the sense that not all of these guys are hardened criminals. In fact, most of them, like Cassian, may be wrongfully imprisoned.

No Easter Eggs, Just Amazing Performances

We know that Andor escapes from prison, so we expect him to survive. We also know that Melshi will survive the escape as well. Everyone else is fair game. Andy Serkis’ speech to motivate the inmates to rise up is incredible and emotional since he is unable to fully escape. My prediction was that Kino would die but they leave his fate unknown. This is better than killing him. He is a great character so now we get to wait for him to show up again.

Probably in Season 2.

“I’d rather die trying to take them down than die giving them what they want”

Cassian andor

This is going to be the new mantra for this series. I believe this is why, despite not being able to swim, Kino will find a way to escape. It’s a great line and, probably, my favorite so far.

Then Stellan SkarsgĂ„rd’s “soliloquy” at the end of the episode is equally as impressive. I was feeling quite moved.

Sacrifice

The conversation between Lonni Jung and Luthen is sublime but also interesting. Luthen speaks to him as if he cares about the guy. It makes me wonder if he’s just manipulating him or if there is a genuine concern. Is Lonni a sibling, a cousin, a close friend, or something else? I’m having a hard time getting a read on Luthen. Does he care for the cause or is he just trying to profit from it? His speech about sacrifice leads me to believe he truly cares but there’s still something off about him.

What’s Next for Cassian?

Maarva is not doing well and I suspect she will not survive the season. My prediction is that Cassian (possibly with Melshi) will return to Ferrix and find her dying or dead. I don’t have a guess as to why he goes back but I assume Gilroy (one of them) will come up with something.

I feel like they are setting up the finale to take place at Spellhaus but I don’t know how Cassian will be involved. Perhaps Cinta captures him when he returns to Ferrix and Vel or Luthen convinces him to participate in the assault thinking he will die in the ambush.

My prediction was that he would join the Rebellion at the end of this season but now I’m not so sure.
