It’s Comic-Con week this week and man I wish I was there. William Shatner, Felicia Day, the entire Firefly cast (including Joss Wheadon) are just a couple of the big reasons I wish I were there! It’s also been a slow week in gaming this week not only because of Comic-Con but also because SWTOR patch 1.3 and The Secret World are now in full swing. So I know we are all busy doing what we all do best, but perhaps you will find some of the following articles and posts interesting.
In this 40th issue of the MMO Times there is more information regarding the Game of Thrones MMO, a new Ultima MMO from EA, some more reviews for The Secret World and the announcement of some new incentive programs from Bioware. Read on and enjoy!
Game of Thrones Seven Kingdoms Trailer
Posted 7/13/12 – At Comic-Con Bigpoint unveiled the first trailer for their Game of Thrones Seven Kingdoms MMO. Visually it looks OK, but I’m not terribly impressed. I guess its not bad for a Free-2-Play, browser based MMO though I probably won’t play it until I have read more of the books. Follow the link to read the short review and see the video.

A New Ultima MMO Announced
Posted 7/12/12 – EA announced their newest, upcoming Free-2-Play MMO entitled Ultima Forever. As you may have guessed this is an MMO that pays homage to the old Ultima games. They haven’t given us a release date yet but what I think is interesting is that not only will it be available for the PC but the iPad as well. Follow the link to read more about it (and its a pretty good read).

The Secret World Massively Review
Posted 7/12/12 – Massively’s Jef Reahard gives his impressions of The Secret World (which went live last week). He gives a pretty good review and its a glowing review. I admit that when I played the beta it was a pretty interesting twist on the MMO genre and I think it could be pretty fun, but I can’t really afford another subscription game. I may consider playing it if it goes F2P. Anyway, follow the link to read Jef’s review.

Tier 14 Preview Recap
Posted 7/11/12 – MMO Champion has a pretty good recap of all the Tier 14 gear for all the classes in Mists of Pandaria. There are images for both genders and videos that illustrates all of the versions (Normal, Heroic, Challenge Mode) of the gear. Follow the link to check it out (its all at the top of the post, before the blue posts).

SWTOR’s Refer-A-Friend Program
Posted 7/10/12 – Bioware has started their own Refer-A-Friend program, with a familiar reward. If you have a friend that subscribes to the game you will receive the new Kurtob Alliance Speeder. I’m sure all the doomsayers will claim this is Bioware getting desperate for subs which is also clearly why Blizzard does this too (heavy sarcasm there). Follow the link to read about the program and see a video of the speeder (btw, it looks like a podracer – nuff said!).

New MechWarrior Online Q&A
Posted 7/9/12 – The devs at Piranha Games have posted answers to a few questions from the community. Some of the questions were a little moot but there are some that you might find interesting. There are answers about how your mech will take damage, questions about maps and terrains, and more. Follow the link to read more.
