New Quest Hub A No-Fly-Zone in 5.2
Posted 1/16/13 – Bashiok posted recently that the new questing up in the 5.2 content patch for Mists of Pandaira will not allow players to fly. I’m actually alright with this. I mean I get Blizzard’s reasons for keeping us grounded but as an avid mount collector, it’ll be nice to get more use out of my ground mounts. After all, considering the ratio of ground mounts to flying mounts there needs to be more reasons to run instead of fly. Be warned, there is a lot of QQ in the comments.

SWTOR Adding Recurring Events and Reputation
Posted 1/15/13 – You know, just as I was expressing my conflict, Bioware has to go and add new game mechanics that makes the decision more difficult. In an upcoming update to the game there will be recurring Gree events that can award players special Gree-themed gear as well as a new galactic reputation gains as you are leveling up. I hope these quality-of-life enhancements will help bring more people back, because its enticing me. [Update: These changes are coming in Game Update 1.7 which is “releasing soon”.]

The MechWarrior Online Spider Mech
Posted 1/15/13 – The newest mech was unveiled for the upcoming MechWarrior Online MMO, the Spider mech. According to this article, while the screenshots don’t really illustrate it, apparently this mech is kind of creepy once you see it in action. Its the “most maneuverable and agile” of the light mechs. The link has a gallery attached of various screenshots from the game, including a few of the new spider mech.

Q&A with Age of Wushu CEO
Posted 1/15/13 – Massively had an opportunity to ask a few questions to the CEO of Snail Games about their upcoming title Age of Wushu. The interview does cover some upcoming game features such as customizing the UI to the games cash shop. If this title interests you then you might want to check out some of the things to expect in this title. Based on the way the article reads, “westernizing” this game was a pretty big obstacle.

Wizardry Online Launch Delayed
Posted 1/15/13 – The launch of SOE’s new wizard title was scheduled for January 16th but the company then decided to push out that release two more weeks. They wanted to wrap up a few details apparently before taking the game live. If anyone has forgotten, Wizardry Online has brought back the concept of permadeath, which is an old school MMO mechanic of once your character dies, there’s no coming back to life.

Blizzard Releases Patch 5.2 Teaser Trailer
Posted 1/7/13 – I know this is a pretty old post but in case you haven’t seen it yet, Blizzard gave us a teaser for the next content patch for Mists of Pandaria. Patch 5.2 is titled The Thunder King and includes a new island daily hub and a new raid (think Isle of Quel’danas). As an avid mount collector, I’m kind of digging the new triceratops mounts! The video is only about a minute long.
