Greetings Gamers! I hope everyone had a happy, and safe, Fourth of July. I don’t know what its like in your neck of the woods but around here it has been sweltering. A perfect reason to stay in doors and play some MMOs.
It has been an exciting week as Funcom’s latest project, The Secret World, went live on the 3rd. More news about Bigpoint’s new Game of Thrones project, as well as some reviews about the newest SWTOR content patch. There is some good stuff to check out this week so enjoy!
Bioware Offers Transfer Incentives
Posted 7/5/12 – The free transfers were a big success but not everyone has transferred. In an effort to convince any remaining toons, Bioware is now offering a free in-game pet and 25 Black Hole Commendations (a new currency for purchasing end-game gear). The haters in the comments claim Bioware is getting desperate but I disagree. My guess is they plan on shutting down the origin servers soon and they want to get the last of the active toons transferred. Follow the link to read more about the incentive program.

Diablo III Find Magic Gear
Posted 7/3/12 – I thought this was a pretty interesting move from Blizzard. Apparently there are many Diablo III players that carry around extra gear with Find Magic stats and equip those items before they engage a boss. Enough players are doing it that it has drawn the attention of Blizzard developers and they have a few ideas on how to address this issue. They want to know what the players think and are asking for your feedback. Follow the link to read more about it.

SWTOR 1.3 Reviews
Posted 7/3/12 – It’s been over a week since the launch of the latest content update for Star Wars The Old Republic and the reviews are in. Pre-Mists of Pandaria Patch Heading to PTR “Soon”
Posted 7/3/12 – Blizzard has announced that the 5.0.1 patch, which is the patch that will precede the MoP release, will be hitting the PTR “soon” (Blizzard’s favorite four-letter S-word). There is an interesting restriction; any account that has MoP beta access will not be able to access the patch on the PTR. Follow the link to WoW Insider to read more.

Game of Thrones MMO Title Revealed
Posted 7/2/12 – I think I mentioned in a previous MMO Times that Bigpoint announced they would be producing a Game of Thrones MMO. Well they have now announced the official title for said MMO: Game of Thrones Seven Kingdoms. While the books are pretty good and I hear the series is pretty good too (when its not stiring up controversy) I don’t know if an MMO is really necessary.
