Issue 114 – Welcome back, you “girlie and weak” gamers! It has been an interesting week for all the talented writers that were kicked to the curb by AOL last week. They quickly learned that while their employers had no support for their livelihoods, the gamer community demonstrated unfathomable support. Nicely done, everyone! It’s pretty extraordinary when you have so many people that have never met each other come together like we saw this past week for Blizzard Watch and Massively OP.
I also just want to point out that there is a new boss fight in WoW that is a play on Hans & Franz and I freaking love the fact that it exists. The Hans & Franz characters bring back some old college memories! The header image is also fitting as SNL celebrates 40 years this year. The next WoW Patch (6.1) is due out on the 24th and Blizzard promises some Overwatch news at PAX East this year (which is in Boston, March 6-8). The interesting news was slow, which is why this post spans about 10+ days. All the big news is probably withheld for PAX East. Hopefully there is still something in here that you hadn’t heard about. Massively Overpowered Officially Live!
Posted 2.11.15 – In an amazing Kickstarter campaign, the MMO community came together and breathed life into Massively OP. It’s extraordinary to see what kind of impact Massively and WoW Insider had on gamers when you see how much money was raised so quickly for both sites to launch in less than a week after their predecessors were shut down (by the evil AOL warlords). I am very excited to see the Massively authors back in action and giving us more great articles to read.

Blizzard Postpones WoD Content
Posted 2.19.15 – Apparently Blizzard had promised, and revoked, another pony. I wasn’t aware, originally, that the next content patch, 6.1, was to include the Iron Docks questing hub. Blizzard has recently tweeted that this content will be postponed to the next content path (6.2 – which has an unknown release date). Many pundits of the game are clamoring that this was an unwise decision on Blizzard’s part, however if the content isn’t ready then it shouldn’t be released. I’m certain this is a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation. If they pushed 6.1, people would complain. If they released buggy content, people would complain. No matter what, people will complain … like a bunch of spoiled children.
