Ahsoka Teaser Trailer

The Star Wars Celebration begins today, in London, and, as I predicted, we got our first Ahsoka teaser trailer. It is also available to watch on Disney+, or you check it out below!

We see a lot of familiar faces and places (if you’ve watched Rebels). Live-action Lothal and Huyang (whom I hope is still voiced by David Tennant is confirmed to reprise the voice) all look fantastic!! There are a few new faces too. I don’t recognize the blond Sith chick; the name Baylan sounds familiar but he is also a mystery.

Did anyone else get chills when Ahsoka called Thrawn the “heir to the Empire“???! The story for this series emerges from Star Wars Rebels. My advice is to go watch it before August otherwise you might be a bit confused.

MMT: Comedy Month (2023)

March is comedy month. Chosen simply because my birthday is in March and comedy is my favorite genre. Almost half of my Plex library is comedy movies. I guess I love to laugh. For each themed month, I try to choose movies with a common element. Last year it was an ode to Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. This year my selection of movies is all from the ’90s:

“You know, for Kids!”

I’m curious how many folks have seen all of these movies. In my opinion, they are all underappreciated. Down Periscope is another movie that I have seen enough times I can quote it. In fact, it’s one of those movies I find myself quoting in conversations. This is, also, Patton Oswalt’s film debut.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 22

bo-katan chapter 22

Title: Guns for Hire
Director: Bryce Dallas Howard
Runtime: 45 minutes

I can’t believe we only have two more weeks of The Mandalorian and then a Star Wars break until Ahsoka comes out (assuming that is the next series). This episode takes a slight left turn from the normal formula, although the end has massive implications. Chapter 22 is also full of celebrity cameos, new and returning.

Din and Bo Katan are out to try to reunite all of Mandalore, per the Armorer’s request. Their mission takes them to a rather pretentious planet where the “organics” do nothing and the droids do all the work. L3 would not approve!

This is another fun episode, that I really enjoyed. It wasn’t just the cameos but that ending too!

The Bad Batch Season 2 Final Thoughts

The Batch’s second season has come to an end and it was an emotional one. I don’t think I’ve felt this way about a cartoon since the final season of Rebels. Anyone that says “cartoons are for kids” needs to spend some quality time with any of the Star Wars animated series, especially The Bad Batch and Rebels. I want to talk about it so here are some Batch Batch Season 2 final thoughts.

The Case for Jar Jar Binks

Jar Jar

It seems I’m always defending Jar Jar, the movies, or Ahmed Best. While I still live by the philosophy to “be your own fan“, sometimes I like to discuss my reasons. My intent is to inform and not to persuade. Admittedly, Ahmed Best (and vicariously Jar Jar) is receiving more adoration than animosity. However, sometimes I still like to make a case for Jar Jar Binks.

Why am I talking about Jar Jar, again?

The Mandalorian: Chapter 21

The Mandalorian and Grogu in the N1 - Chapter 21

Title: The Pirate
Director: Peter Ramsey
Runtime: 42 minutes

We are on the other side of the midway point. What secrets and schemes are lurking in Din’s future? I really enjoyed this episode, probably the best one of the season. This is another episode that feels like it takes more cues from Andor as it does, indeed, progress a sinister plot for Din and his covert.

A reminder that there will be no more spoiler warnings since we are now counting down to the season finale.
