Final Thoughts and Theories on Ahsoka

I’m going to start off by saying that I really do enjoy this series. People often ask me what my favorite Disney+ Star Wars series is, which is always difficult to answer. There are many things to consider when making that decision. I’m not particularly eager to rank Star Wars movies or series. I will watch all of them multiple times throughout the year. I enjoy them all and each for different reasons.

That being said, in terms of acting, writing, world-building, and character development, Andor easily wins out. It’s probably the best in the franchise. However, the series I connect with the most are Ahsoka and Kenobi.

Ahsoka Part Eight

Ahsoka Part Eight Ezra

Title: The Jedi, the Witch and the Warlord
Directed By: Rick Famuyiwa
Runtime: 48 minutes

I can’t believe we are already at the (season one) finale! It has been an incredible journey and I’m looking forward to more (please let there be a season two). I will probably write a separate post that wraps up my thoughts and feelings on this series but, in the meantime, let’s talk about Ahsoka Part Eight.

The director is no stranger to the Star Wars franchise. Rick Famuyiwa has directed several excellent episodes of The Mandalorian. He does another fantastic job on this finale.

With time running out, Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine must race to try to stop Thrawn from returning to the home galaxy. Is Thrawn prepared to face Anakin’s former padawan?

MMT: Martial Arts Month (2023)

Everyone has that one genre of film that is their secret obsession. For some it’s ROM coms, other it’s musicals and for some it’s thrillers. My secret film obsession is Martial Arts films. There was a time when I was in martial arts and perhaps my interest stems from that experience. A friend of mine, who helped me train in taekwondo, is primarily responsible for introducing me to the genre. Here are my Martial Arts Month selections, 2023 edition:

Ahsoka Part Seven

Mon Mothma Ahsoka Part Seven

Title: Dreams and Madness
Directed By: Geeta Vasant Patel
Runtime: 45 minutes

This is the penultimate episode of the season. I don’t know how much preamble I can provide. Geeta Vasant Patel is a new director to the franchise. I don’t recognize much of her other work but I think she did a great job on Ahsoka Part Seven.

Of course, we should start with a quick recap. Thrawn has completed his preparations for his return to the home galaxy. Ahsoka arrives at Peridea with a trap waiting for her. Shin and Baylan’s alliance with the bandits makes trouble for Ezra and Sabine.

WoW Update: 10.1 State of the Raid

The next major content patch, 10.2, is officially on the PTR. It has been a few months since I last talked about World of Warcraft. In fact, it was just prior to the 10.1 content patch. A lot has happened since March so let’s do a 10.1 state of the raid and talk about how things are shaping up.

It has only been approximately six months since I last talked about our raiding progress. We were almost to Heroic Raszageth. However, we had some team recalibration that coincided with the patch arriving faster than we expected and we could not obtain Ahead of the Curve.

Ahsoka Part Six

Peridea

Title: Far, Far Away
Directed By: Jennifer Getzinger
Runtime: 48 minutes

How do you follow up on an episode like the one we saw last week? I do not expect another “banger” of an episode this week. In fact, with only three episodes left in this season, this episode’s purpose is to set up the final two. Here are my thoughts on Ahsoka Part Six.

First, we have a new director. Jennifer Getzinger is known for directing various episodes of Mad Men, Agent Carter, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones (to name a few). I think she does an excellent job in this episode.
