MMT: Random Theme (2023) Robin Williams

The passing of Matthew Perry had me thinking about Robin Williams. As funny as Matthew Perry was, he’s a dim candle compared to the bright light that was Robin Williams. Therefore, for November’s random theme, I chose Robin Williams movies.

Robin Williams

There are so many films to choose from and I only own 30 of them. He is far more versatile than most people think but I chose to stick with his comedies. He is best known for his comedy. So here are my 2023 selections for Random Theme Month.

WoW: Thoughts On The Expansion Announcement

The War Within is the first of three new expansions

Greetings gamers! Last weekend (November 3rd-4th) was BlizzCon and, if you hadn’t heard, there was a major announcement for the World of Warcraft franchise. If you follow any gaming news then you already know what’s happening. I’m not going to regurgitate everything you’ve already seen 100 times by now. If you want to see it all again then I suggest going to Blizzard Entertainment’s YouTube page. This is merely my thoughts on the expansion announcement and the changes coming to the game.

I’ll cover their new approach for the next three expansions, the new systems (ex: Delves and Warbands), and a few other things.

MMT: Halloween Month (2023)

I can’t believe October is already over (but I’m kind of thankful Halloween is). I get why people love Halloween; it’s a great holiday to be creative, however, I think it’s the most exhausting holiday of the year. It’s pretty low on my list of holidays, but that’s a topic for another time.

Be that as it may, let’s talk about October’s movie selections. Again, this year I did not have a predefined list, however, I did have a couple planned out in my head.

The One Where You Were There For Us

The One Where We Lost A Friend

I don’t idolize Hollywood. Most of their elite attitude is loathsome. Also, while I mourn the passing of a great actor and musician I’m not often compelled to write about them. I will, however, pay homage to them at the end of the year. You will also notice that I don’t write about the passing of my family members. They are my family members and their passing is not for public display.

Occasionally one comes along in Hollywood that leaves a lasting impression. It’s rare enough, for me, that I feel the need to write about them. This is one of those times and Matthew Perry is one of those celebrities.

Final Thoughts and Theories on Ahsoka

I’m going to start off by saying that I really do enjoy this series. People often ask me what my favorite Disney+ Star Wars series is, which is always difficult to answer. There are many things to consider when making that decision. I’m not particularly eager to rank Star Wars movies or series. I will watch all of them multiple times throughout the year. I enjoy them all and each for different reasons.

That being said, in terms of acting, writing, world-building, and character development, Andor easily wins out. It’s probably the best in the franchise. However, the series I connect with the most are Ahsoka and Kenobi.

Ahsoka Part Eight

Ahsoka Part Eight Ezra

Title: The Jedi, the Witch and the Warlord
Directed By: Rick Famuyiwa
Runtime: 48 minutes

I can’t believe we are already at the (season one) finale! It has been an incredible journey and I’m looking forward to more (please let there be a season two). I will probably write a separate post that wraps up my thoughts and feelings on this series but, in the meantime, let’s talk about Ahsoka Part Eight.

The director is no stranger to the Star Wars franchise. Rick Famuyiwa has directed several excellent episodes of The Mandalorian. He does another fantastic job on this finale.

With time running out, Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine must race to try to stop Thrawn from returning to the home galaxy. Is Thrawn prepared to face Anakin’s former padawan?
