imperial_center_rotjIssue 120: It’s already Independence Day, where has this year gone. The days are already growing shorter and we are already a third of the way through the summer. Gaming is definitely one way to spend those hot summer days. Granted going outside is good for the ole belly, but there’s nothing good about heat stroke. Plan your day-star activities carefully.

Now that E3 is in the bag, I am trying to get back to news that is more specific to MMOs, though there are a couple of interesting non-MMO news. I also wanted to mention the fact that Steam’s impending console has already sold out of pre-orders for the October deliveries. It’s surprising that so many people blindly throw their money at a new gaming system without knowing how good it is. Don’t get me wrong I think Steam is great, but just look at the PC version of Arkham Knight which is still making headlines (and not in a good way).

There is news about the much anticipated new content for Heroes of the Storm, TSW’s anniversary event, the Rakghoul plague returns to infect the universe, unexpected news about Patch 6.2 and other things to check out. Make sure you get out there and enjoy our nation’s birthday (assuming you live in the States) and be safe out there.

Rumor Mill: Last of Us Sequel

Posted 6.30.15 – The one game that nearly convinced me to buy a Playstation 4 was The Last of Us. I watched a friend of mine play it on his PS4 and became entranced by the quality of the graphics and gameplay. I did resist the temptation but now there is a rumor, perpetuated by Nolan North (a voice actor from the game), has alluded that a sequel is in the works. I just wish that it was a title that were available on other platforms *hint**hint*

New HotS Content Is Live

Posted 6.30.15 – As Blizzard talked about around E3, the new Diablo III content for Heroes of the Storm has gone live. Eternal Conflict brings new heroes and a new heaven/hell zone for players to do battle. Some of the reports out of E3 have said that the graphics quality for this new content are supposed to be quite nice. I still haven’t logged into HotS since the beta so I don’t know if I will get around to taking a look myself, but I am curious about your impressions.

The Secret World Anniversary

Posted 7.1.15 – I can’t believe The Secret World is celebrating its third anniversary this year! Players can log in to celebrate the anniversary until July 15th in which you will be able to earn some hippie-themed gear and toys as well as a motorcycle design and, apparently Issue #12 is also in the works with a new dungeon planned. I completely forgot about the motorcycle mounts! I haven’t logged into that game in a while, maybe its time that I should.

More Star Wars Battlefront Details

Posted 7.1.15 – This article is mostly about how the content and story of the game sticks to the core of the movies and, I’ll be honest, I didn’t read the article because I saw there was a gameplay video at the bottom. The video looks like an interview conducted by Gamespot at E3 this year, but the best part starts about a minute into it. You get to see some beta footage of actual gameplay and Ohh. My. Goodness. It looks incredible! You need to go check it out for yourself!

WoW: Fury of Hellfire Is Last Patch

Posted 7.2.15 – In a recent interview with Cory Stockton, Blizzard Watch learned that Patch 6.2 is the last patch for Warlords of Draenor, which means Hellfire Citadel will be the final raid of the expansion. I’m surprised and a little bummed to learn about this, although I haven’t experienced much of the content that is in this patch. I guess I will definitely have to step up the raiding effort to experience the end game (even if it means doing LFR). This also means that chances are probably good that we will find out if there will be another expansion and its name at Blizzcon this year. Let the rumor mill begin to churn!

New Title: Skyforge Open Beta

Posted 7.2.15 – A new MMO in the works by the Allods Team will be entering open beta on July 16th. I think I have read about this title before, but I don’t know if I have ever included it in previous posts. If you purchased the Founder’s Pack then you will be able to enter the open beta early on July 9th. I haven’t tried a beta since I got into the Heroes of the Storm beta so maybe I will find some time to try Skyforge out come the 16th.
