Rogue One Cast Issue 127: Greetings again, gamers!! I hope everyone had a lovely summer as, by now, kids are returning to school which means the malls and trade chat are safe once again during the day. The news of the impending fall season isn’t all bad as that also means football season is upon us! I hope I have some exiting things for you to read about in this issue, as I know its going to be difficult to top the past two issues with all the Legion goodies and Gamescom news. Although there were some pretty sexy geek announcements at Disney’s D23 Expo (such as the announcement of the Rogue One movie cast as seen in the image above).

In any event, I have some things to talk about other than the new WoW expansion (though there are one or two headlines in here about Legion and/or WoW). Actually there are a couple of titles that haven’t been in the news much lately such as The Secret World, Elder Scrolls Online, ArcheAge, to name a few. I had to include the headline about the sweet new PS4 coming out this fall (once you see the article, you will know why). There is more BlizzCon news to read about, which is probably the next big gamer conference we are all excited to see. Beyond more Legion news, I hope we hear more about Overwatch (such as when the beta’s start). Enjoy. KCGO.

A Look At New Mounts/Pets

murlocPosted 8.12.15 – When there are new mounts (and pets) on the horizon you can bet that I’m going to mention them, especially if there is some epic quality to them. I have to say that Murkidan, this years Blizzcon pet, definitely qualifies as epic (and getting a lot of attention). They have also released images of the Reins of the Illidari Felstalker mount for the Legion collectors edition, which also looks pretty cool. Oh, and coming to the pet store soon, that moose they promised us! If you are a mount and/or pet collector, you definitely need to check out these links. Blizzard Watch post | Official website

Imperial City DLC Details

Posted 8.13.15 – Bathesda has released the details of the first DLC game pack for Elder Scrolls Online, called Imperial City. This pack has a ton of new stuff, from a new zone (a la Imperial City obviously), new PvP districts and dungeons, new PvE districts and dungeons, treasure vaults, more collectibles, the list of new features is pretty extensive. I think Bathesda did right by Elder Scrolls because, as far as I can tell, ESO has been a fairly successful MMO adaptation. This new content will be available for the PC August 31st. Gamespot post

TSW Issue 12 Going Live

Posted 8.14.15 – Funcom announced on this date that Issue 12 of The Secret World (and probably the last update for the Tokyo expansion) will be out the following week. In fact probably by the time you are reading this, Issue 12 ought to be live. There is a new small group dungeon beneath Orochi Tower, two new raids, new world bosses, improved social and LFG tools. There have also been updates to the daily challenges and token system, the link below should be able to help you find out more of what to expect in Issue 12. Massively Overpowered post

Now I Wish I Could Afford A PS4

xbox_sw1Posted 8.16.15 – At Disney’s D23 Expo (where all kinds of geeky goodness was unveiled) Disney, in cahoots with Sony, have successfully swooned me into wishing I could afford to buy a Playstation 4 with the unveiling of their Darth Vader inspired Playstation 4 console with DualShock 4 controller and a kit that comes packaged with Star Wars games including the new Star Wars Battlefront. This is the epitome of a Star Wars and gamer geek’s wet dream. This would look great next to my R2-D2 X-Box 360! polygon article (warning: drool towel may be needed)

A Brand New Mount!!!

Posted 8.17.15 – Can you imagine Rod Roddy bellowing that out whenever you get a new mount? It’s kind of humorous to play that in my head, but I’m a little strange. Be that as it may, ArcheAge players will be receiving a brand new griffin mount when the 2.0 update drops next month. There will be a few strings attached; while anyone that wants to play can receive said mount, initially it will only last 30 days unless you participate in the anniversary festivities, which I’m sure won’t be terribly inconvenient. BlizzCon Goody Bag Unboxed

Posted 8.18.15 – Blizzard has started shipping out this years goody bag for BlizzCon. The neat thing this year is even virtual ticket folks can pick up this years goody bag (while supplies last, of course). The other neat thing is this year its an actual bag. A commemorative BlizzCon messenger bag. Obviously that’s not all! There are other things in there to help you get your geek on. YouTube’s Michelle Morrow provided a fun unboxing video of BlizzCon 2015’s Goody Bag. Enjoy. Blizzard Watch post

New HotS/D3 Promotion

Posted 8.18.15 – This is a new cross-promotion for folks that play Diablo III and Heroes of the Storm. This is somewhat similar to the cross-promotion (that is still active) between WoW and HotS where you can unlock a combat pet, Graves. However, this promotion isn’t going to be as easy as leveling to 20 in HotS. It seems you are going to have to be quite the avid Diablo III player to meet the requirements to unlock the mount. There are more details in the post.
