ICYMI: Star Wars Andor Teaser Trailer!

What a pleasant surprise! I was not expecting this little gem to be released today. Just as we are all getting ramped up for the release of the Kenobi series tomorrow, we get an Andor teaser trailer!

Here it is. Enjoy!

At this point its a little too soon to make any predictions or assumptions. It looks exciting yet ominous. Let’s just enjoy it for what it is.

Andor will premiere August 31st on Disney+

The Upcoming Kenobi Series

The highly anticipated series among all Star Wars fans will be out a week from the date of this post. The hype for this series may have reached a point greater than the announcement of The Force Awakens. I really hope this series lives up to the hype, although I’m sure the trolls are ready to nitpick every detail from live-action depictions to action sequence flourishes. It doesn’t matter what others think, I am going to enjoy this series. With that said, I’m going to share some thoughts and predictions for the upcoming Kenobi series.

Also, I may be late posting about the first two episodes as I will be traveling on the 27th.

Theories and Predictions

I am not going to discuss plot theories or predictions. The trailers, thus far, have made it pretty clear what is going on. Vader is hunting down all the remaining Jedi, using the Inquisitors (which we’ve seen before in The Clone Wars series). This series is probably going to be pretty dark. Obi-Wan has endured a lot and he’s probably still struggling with the consequences of Order 66.

My first theory is we won’t see why he calls himself “Ben”, although in the fifteenth episode of season four of Clone Wars he uses “Ben” as a codename while undercover. It’s possible he continues to use that name while in exile. Granted, we still don’t know (canonically) why he chose “Ben” in the first place. In the Legends novel Kenobi it is revealed that it was a name Satine Kryze’s used to call him. If they canonically explain the reason he chose “Ben”, this would be my favorite reason.

Cameo Predictions

Force ghost Qui-Gon

I have a few cameo predictions. I have already mentioned it once, when the first trailer debuted; I think Qui-Gon will show up. He will either be a Force ghost or we will hear Liam Neeson in a voice over during meditation or reflection.

I think we will also see Temuera Morrison as Rex. Many astute fans have pointed out there is a glimpse of some clone trooper armor with blue accents in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot from the first trailer. I’d love to see live-action Rex but I feel like he would be more likely to show up in the Ahsoka series.

The next two predictions are probably stretches. Black Krrsantan (from The Book of Boba Fett) has a history with Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is hired to collect a bounty on the capture of Obi-Wan Kenobi. I also think its possible, however unlikely, we could see Alden Ehrenreich reprise his role as Han Solo in a brief cameo. This series takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and one year after the end of the Solo movie. Han should, in theory, be on Tatooine working for Jabba.

Do you have any theories or predictions you’d like to share? (Remember, if this is your first time leaving a comment, it may not appear right away. I have to approve all first time posts because trolls and bots are jerks).

HMDYK About Domhnall Gleeson

Today, May 12th is Domhnall Gleeson’s birthday so its only fitting that I post this article in his honor. In case you didn’t know, Domhnall Gleeson is our loveable(?) General Hux in the sequel trilogy. The banter between Hux and Oscar Isaac‘s Poe Dameron is some of my favorite dialog in the sequels. When I chose Domhnall it was because I wanted to know what else I have seen him in and I was surprised. So, with that said, I ask you … how much do you know about Domhnall Gleeson?

Like Father, Like Son

Domhnall Gleeson is an Irish actor and writer. He was born May 12th (duh), 1983 in Dublin, Ireland. Let’s get the obvious question out of the way first. His first name is pronounced “doh-nall”, the “m” is silent. I’m sure that’s what all of you were wondering 🙂

Domhnall and Dad (Brendan) at The Force Awakens Premiere

He is the son of an actor you may have heard of, Brendan Gleeson. He has appeared in seven films with his father and I’m sure you have heard of at least two of them. He is Bill Weasley in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2; his father, of course, plays Mad-Eye Moody. He is Thomas McGregor in the live action Peter Rabbit films. The first one isn’t that bad, especially if you have kids. I have not seen the second one.

Fun Fact: he competed with this father for Best Actor/Best Supporting Actor awards in a couple film festivals and lost, both times, to his father.

Hopefully he shows up to some Comic-Con or a Star Wars Celebration, I think I’d enjoy meeting him. I’d like to check out a few of his other roles so if you have a suggestion, please leave it in the comments. (If you are posting comments for the first time and it doesn’t appear, I have to approve all comments from new users.)

Happy Star Wars Day 2022!!

I live for this day in May. While I love Geek Pride Day/Towel Day (May 25th), I think May the 4th is still my favorite.

Happy Star Wars Day to all!

Happy Star Wars Month 2022!!

Happy Star Wars Month 2022

My favorite month of the year is here. It’s Star Wars month!! Happy Star Wars month everyone!! Also, since it’s May 1st it’s also “501st Day” so a shout out to the 501st Legion (aka Vader’s Fist)!

I hope to provide a few extra Star Wars themed posts this month. Most of them nobody really asked for. The month will culminate with the first two episodes of the new Kenobi series premiering on Disney+!

My goals this month will be the same every May … watch all 11 movies and as many series as possible. Although I am giving some consideration to watching the Clone Wars again. It has been a while since I’ve seen it and perhaps its time for a refresher.
