The MMO Times: Spring Into Summer

mmotimesheaderIssue 73: G’day Gamers! The summer is almost upon us which means patches and updates are coming as students are released from the shackles of educational institutions. Many of our favorite MMOs have some plans for the summer and some of those updates are starting as soon as next week! As an avid gamer myself, while I am excited for all the new content, I still plan on getting outside regularly to indulge in the warmth of the sunshine. I hope you all do the same.

So what goodies are in store for you in this issue of the MMO Times? How about a new MWO mech, more DCUO content, SWTOR patches (note the plural), etc. Also, don’t forget the plethora of details coming out about the next World of Warcraft content patch, 5.3 (which has allegedly started downloading in the background). There won’t be any raids but there will be new scenarios and more quality of life tweaks. Read on and game on, friends!

The MMO Times: The News Has Been Slow

mmotimesheaderIssue 63: When I started out creating this post I thought there would be quite a bit of news to report in this issue but the news stalled out near the end of last week. Perhaps with the impending Superbowl the MMO news went to the back burner.

I know today Blizzard is having extended maintenance on WoW so despite the fact that there isn’t a lot of news, there might be an article or two that will help pass the time. Check out a new MMO title from an unknown development studio; there’s a pretty good article on crafting in Age of Wushu; more news about TERA and DCUO which you may have already heard about. The MMO Times: Here Come the Browncoats!

Welcome back, Gamers! We are on the brink of the next World of Warcraft expansion and ironically I found nothing really worth reporting about Mists of Pandaria this week. Of course by this point everyone pretty much knows what to expect. It will seem strange that we don’t have a Blizzcon this year, but everyone is going to be too entrenched into the expansion anyway.

This week Aion and SWTOR have made it back into the headlines and more news about The Secret World (especially if you have been waiting for a free trial). There is also more news about NCSoft’s efforts to bring Blade & Soul to the west and more content for DC Universe Online. The MMO Times – And We’re Back

Sorry for the AFK, Gamers. I became pretty swamped at work and I just didn’t have the time to read up on the latest MMO rumblings. I hope all of you found the time to perhaps read up on a few of stories on your own. Of course the biggest news to come out over the past two weeks is that in November SWTOR will adopt a Free-2-Play model. More on that in this issue.

Guild Wars 2 and the next WoW expansion are on the horizon and there is more details about MoP in this issue. If you are a DCUO fan, there is more DLC coming in September and more for the RIFT expansion and new Secret World content as well. Gamescom was this week so that probably explains the flood of new announcements coming out this week. Read on and game on, friends!
