Andor Season 2

Directed by: Alonso Ruizpalacios

Ep 10: Make it Stop – 48 min
Ep 11: Who Else Knows? – 42 min
Ep 12: Jedha, Kyber, Erso – 45 min

I know it’s been over a week since Andor ended. This final post is coming late because there was a lot to process. By now I’m sure most sites have posted their comments and thoughts but I will do it anyway. The events of these three episodes lead right up to the beginning of Rogue One so it seems pointless to talk about the Easter Eggs.

As I’ve mentioned in the posts about the previous episodes this season, I’m glad we’re not killing off everyone. Given Luthen’s speech about sacrifice in the first season, his fate is perfectly poetic. Dedra’s arrest and imprisonment on Narkina 5 was fantastic. I hope she didn’t take the swimming lessons from Kino Loy. Finally, Bix returning to Mina-Rau and giving birth to Cassian’s baby is the best final moment of any Star Wars series. Talk about “a new hope”.

Some Final Thoughts

This is my favorite season of the two seasons. It felt like every episode was intense. Breaking each three episodes up into 4 different story arcs did not detract from the quality. As Tony Gilroy said at the Star Wars Celebration, it will be like a movie a week and that’s exactly what it felt like.

Elizabeth Dulau as Kleya Marki

My final remark is in regard to Kleya Marki. Again, I’m glad she survives the series and I’m curious if we will see her again. I loved seeing Kleya and Luthen’s backstory and seeing that relationship. It makes Luthen’s death so much more heartbreaking.

I would be remiss if I did not mention Elizabeth Dulau’s performance. The Internet has been talking about it since the series ended. Dulau’s performance is phenomenal. I cannot believe this was her first major acting role. We will watch her career with great interest.

The Kenobi and Ahsoka series are still the two that I connect with the most. They are still my favorite. Be that as it may, Andor is, beyond a doubt, the best in the franchise. The acting, directing, and writing are all better than anything else that’s been done. Tony Gilroy did it all right. He said he won’t do any more Star Wars projects and he shouldn’t. He should go out on top before he sees himself become the “enemy”.

What a great show!
