Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New YearBefore things get really crazy, with Christmas only a few days away, I wanted to take the time to bid everyone a safe and very Merry Christmas. I hope the conclusion of your year is peaceful and bright! Please have a safe, and responsible, Happy New Year!

This year was another election year, and it was probably one of the most tumultuous years we have had in a long time. Over the past several months we have all been awfully cruel to one another because we all believe different things. We are all entitled to those beliefs and I applaud everyone with the conviction to stick to what they believe despite how ugly people can be. Christmas is a time to let go of those ugly feelings and focus on family, friends and how lucky we are. We should look to our fellow man for comfort and support. Sing Christmas carols (even if you don’t like Christmas music); it will make you feel better about yourself.

Sit beside a warm fire and watch a “feel-good” movie with your family and friends; something like “It’s a Wonderful Life” or “Miracle on 34th Street”. If you want something with a little more humor but with a feel-good ending, then perhaps “Scrooged” or “Four Christmases” will be more your speed. Whatever you watch or whatever you do to enjoy the season, just don’t spend it berating people on Facebook or Twitter. We all need to chill out (no pun intended) and focus on the things that are more important.

I hope 2017 will be a friendlier year.

Merry Christmas and God Bless!

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

A Very Merry Christmas You Will HaveAs we sit on the brink of one of the most epic movie releases of the new millennium (falcon) and Christmas just around the corner I don’t know how busy things will become for me as I prepare my family for my favorite holiday. I wanted to make sure that I get a post out wishing all my family, friends and readers (the few of you there are, if any) a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a SAFE and HAPPY NEW YEAR!If you’re Jewish then I wish you a VERY HAPPY HANUKKAH!!!

I hope Santa Yoda brings you and your families all that you desire! If you only see Star Wars once or a dozen times, please be considerate of other folks who may not have the same opportunities you have and spoil it for them. I have already heard stories of cretinous trolls posting spoilers on social media because they know some people have to check their Facebook page every 12 seconds. I’m not one of those people as I could go all day without checking any social media webpage, but I will likely be too busy over the next 10 days to pay much attention to Facebook and/or Twitter. Besides it’s not really spoilers that I’m worried about as I am about finding out how many people will have seen the movie before I do (I’m not going to have a 3-hour window available between now and the weekend following Christmas). Be that as it may just show some respect for your fellow Star Wars fan! #DontBeAHomer

So with all that said, we will see you all on the other side of Christmas!

The MMO Times: Returns in 2016

Greetings Readers,

Since Thanksgiving ended life has been a flurry of activities. Traveling home, decorating for Christmas, arranging a meet and greet with Santa, buying Christmas gifts, starting at a new client, etc. etc. etc. I have tried to put together the next issue/post but I just haven’t had the time to do the research.
Therefore I have decided that I am going to postpone writing the next post until January so I can remove one activity from my list of things to try to keep up on (not that anyone is forcing me to write them). If you want to try to keep up with news during the next couple of weeks, here are the sites I normally pull from:

2016 is going to be a big year, especially for those that are fans of Blizzard games so I’m sure there won’t be any shortage of noteworthy headlines to share. So until next year …

Merry Christmas from The MMO Times

… and a safe and Happy New Year!

An Involuntary, Temporary Hiatus

Greetings, a belated MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We had a lot going on over the past 2 months. We had to prepare the house for guests as we were getting our daughter baptized. As you know from a previous post, I did not enjoy most of the preparation but I’m glad its done now! The rooms look great, just a few blemishes to patch up in a few inconspicuous spots. The down side of all the work we did, we had worn ourselves out so much we made ourselves vulnerable to all the fun cold and stomach viruses prevalent at this time of year. So the weeks following the baptism we were all sick with various cold, cough and stomach bugs.

Then Christmas came and we all went out to my in-laws in Connecticut and that’s when we all caught that nasty respiratory flu that has been going around. BTW, when I say “we all caught it”, I’m not being dramatic. Every person in the house caught it, even poor little Evie. We are all still fighting off the remnants.

So I guess 2014 ended poorly in that we were all sick, but 2015 is starting out pretty good since we are all in recovery. I didn’t make a New Years Resolution because I don’t make New Years Resolutions, I don’t see the point.

Anyway, that’s all for now.

The MMO Times: HoHoHo, Merry Christmas!

mmotimesheaderIssue 58: Greetings Gamers! This will be the last pre-apocalyptic and pre-Christmas issue so I hope you enjoy the headlines because they could be your last (or the last for this year). So if you’re waiting on a queue, the servers are down for maintenance or you are taking a break from making Armageddon plans check out what we have this week.

We have some new content coming to The Secret World and SWTOR. Some more information on upcoming titles such as Age of Wushu and Marvel Heroes. There is also some interesting news about an old MMO coming back online (which I don’t think has ever happened before). Perhaps an encouraging sign for other MMOs that we have lost over the past couple of years. There is this and more so read on and game on, friends!

(I also provide The MMO Times in an e-mail. If you are interested in receiving the e-mail version please click here to subscribe.)

Yule Tidings!

I just want to take this opportunity, before I forget to do it this week, to wish all of you …

Merry-Chrismass

Awww … did that offend you? Well tough! Get over yourself because no matter how much you complain on Facebook and Twitter, there are hundreds of thousands of people, just like me, that are going to continue to say “Merry Christmas”. There is absolutely nothing you can do about it so just shut up and enjoy the season.
