Onyx Cinder approaching At Attin

Title: We’re Gonne Be In So Much Trouble
Directed by: Lee Isaac Chung
Runtime: 33 minutes

This post will contain spoilers, so I hope you’ve been watching. This is your only warning.

Jod is the villain. I don’t think we will see a redemption arc for his character. He pulled an “Anakin Skywalker” and held a blue lightsaber in front of a bunch of kids with the threat to murder them. Greed has corrupted him and turned him to the dark side. My guess is that he will be thwarted and imprisoned on At Attin.

Perhaps his redemption story will be in the Mandalorian & Grogu movie.

Skelton Crew – Episode 7 Easter Eggs

Again, there are not a lot of Easter eggs, but there are a couple of things we can discuss. This episode does touch on a couple of Star Wars tropes and even pays homage to Attack of the Clones. When Jod and the kids are lowering down into the vaults, he’s pretending to be a Republic Emissary, similar to Obi-Wan in Attack of the Clones when he visits Kamino. The droid even mirrors Lama Su with the line, “We hoped you would be pleased.”

Robot from THX 1138

Speaking of the vaults, the droid tells Jod there are 1,139 vaults, one more than 1138, a number often reused in Star Wars. (If you weren’t aware of its origin, 1138 comes from THX 1138, George Lucas’ first feature-length film.) Many speculate that something will happen to one of the vaults thus reducing the number down to 1,138.

The most obvious trope is when Neel’s mom almost says the classic Star Wars line about “bad feelings”.

Other than that, there are mostly more references to Treasure Island and Treasure Planet. In fact, Brutus even refers to At Attin as a “treasure planet.”

The final episode will air Tuesday night at 9 EST. I’m hoping for a cameo or the first live-action appearance of someone. Perhaps Hondo?
