We have now completed 25 years in the new millennium and a quarter of the way through the century. 2025 was a pretty good year; fairly normal, but I do have some things to work on in 2026 to make up for where I fell short in some of my goals. Of course, the goals for 2026 will be covered in another post. We will cover the same three categories.
Another Christmas in the books; it always goes too fast. I did get a chance to watch several movies this year and a decent mix of selections. This is also the inaugural year for a new special event movie, Elf Celebration Day (on December twELFth). Let’s get the list of default movies.
We watched Four Christmases again this year, so it’s now pretty much a default choice. Believe it or not, we did not watch Spirited this year, which surprises me since my daughter enjoys it so much. Now let’s get to the non-default choices, including a 2025 Christmas movie.
How about one more trailer before 2025 comes to a close? As promised, here is another teaser trailer for Avengers Doomsday, this time focusing on Thor.
If you didn’t know, the actress who is playing Thor’s adopted daughter is Chris Hemsworth’s own daughter, India Rose Hemsworth. She is reprising the role from Thor: Love and Thunder. I think this makes the character dynamics much more real, not just for the viewers but also for Chris and his family.
There is a theme developing here. So far, both trailers depict a member of the original Avengers and their child. I think there are two more teaser trailers set to come out, so who else has a kid? Keep in mind that this movie is not scheduled to release until November, 2026.
“The screen is a magic medium. It has such power that it can retain interest as it conveys emotions and moods that no other art form can hope to tackle.”
– Stanley Kubrick
This is the Peaky Blinders movie Netflix has been teasing for a while. If you’ve never seen the series, I highly recommend it! It is a fantastic series! This movie brings back Thomas Shelby following the events of the series. Take a look, but I have one caveat. If you’ve never seen the show, the trailer probably won’t make sense.
This is just a teaser, but I need to go back and watch the series again. I believe this is the role Cillian Murphy will be remembered for, despite his amazing filmography.
The movie will be in select theaters on March 6th and streaming on Netflix on March 20th.
/cheers
Before I say too much about this trailer, you should probably check it out. FYI, if you saw the newest Avatar movie (Avatar: Fire and Ash), apparently, this trailer premiered with that movie. Watch this trailer before reading any further.
I know this is way outside the normal posts for this category, but we are such fans of Ashley Eckstein and what she’s done for the franchise. I would love to do a post about Ashley; however, she’s mostly known for her voice-over work as Ahsoka Tano. She is married to retired St Louis Cardinal shortstop David Eckstein. She is often seen at any con, and she loves meeting fans. She’s also an entrepreneur and started Her Universe in 2010. So, for one last time in 2025, how much do you know about Her Universe?
