Star Wars Month (2023) Wrap-Up

It’s June 1st which means another Star Wars month has ended. I kept things pretty basic this year; I didn’t have much to post about. No new projects were announced nor any new trailers (I was hoping for a new Ahsoka trailer).

Skywalker Saga

This post also stands in for the Monthly Movie wrap-up post I do after each month. May’s theme should be obvious. Every year, during the month of May, is my Star Wars movie marathon. I managed to squeeze in all 11 movies but not on Disney+. My home theater has a pretty decent HD setup and I own all 11 movies either on Blu-ray or 4K.

I also watched the Kenobi series, again. Listening to the soundtracks is also on the list every May. In fact this year I even wrote a couple of posts about the music of Star Wars.

Bonus and Special Event Movies

Towel Day

There is a special event movie in May. On the 25th we celebrate Geek Pride Day. On the 25th I break from the Star Wars marathon to watch Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy in honor of Towel Day.

Watching 12 movies in a month, and only during the work week, is pretty tough. Therefore there wasn’t a bonus movie. It really puts into perspective how many movies I can manage and sets a precedent for future movie selections for the other months of the year.

June is all about superheroes.

The Music of Star Wars

The music of Star Wars gives me focus

I bought [a copy of] the soundtrack for all 11 Star Wars movies and listen to them regularly. If there is a day at work when I need to buckle down, the music of Star Wars gives me focus. Despite the divisive fandom, the one thing we all agree on is that the music is fantastic.

Therefore, as part of my Star Wars movie marathon this month I thought I would share my favorite tracks from each film.

HMDYK About Duel of the Fates

This is an unusual topic for a “How Much Do You Know” but this one is interesting. I recently watched Episode 1 as part of my Star Wars marathon for Star Wars month. The music in Star Wars is, undoubtedly some of the best music in cinema. John Williams is a legend. The origin of this track from The Phantom Menace score is really cool. It truly illustrates John Williams’s genius. How much do you know about Duel of the Fates?

Happy Star Wars Day (2023)

Happy Star Wars Day!

To all of my fellow Star Wars Fans, Happy Star Wars Day! Let’s be kind to all of the different types of fans. It shouldn’t matter if you’re an OT/EU fan, PT, ST, Lucas only, or everything (like me). We’re all fans and we love what we love. Be Your Own Fan and don’t give in to the haters.

If you know of any deals please post them. So far Disney is already posting new collections and products at shopDisney. There are also two new animated shows available on Disney+: Young Jedi Adventures and Visions Volume 2.

Gamespot has a decent list of available deals here.

I also found this list.

I’ll add more things as I find them.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 24

Grogu Chapter 24

Title: The Return
Director: Rick Famuyima
Runtime: 41 minutes

This is it, folks! The season three finale! I can’t believe it’s already been eight weeks since the season started. There are no Easter eggs this time. If you watched the episode last week then you know exactly where we left off, so let’s discuss it.

Chapter 24 picks up right where the last episode left off, obviously. Bo-Katan and the rest of the Mandalorians are fighting to retake their home world and Din Djarin has been captured.

The Mandalorian Season Finale Rumors and Theories

Chapter 23 left all of us pondering what might happen in Chapter 24. I have seen a lot of different ideas on who “the spies” are because it isn’t the Shadow Council. Let’s talk about some of the Mandalorian season finale rumors and theories and discuss their probabilities. I’m not going to mention things I’ve already predicted (i.e. Thrawn’s appearance). These are in no particular order.
