The next major content patch, 10.2, is officially on the PTR. It has been a few months since I last talked about World of Warcraft. In fact, it was just prior to the 10.1 content patch. A lot has happened since March so let’s do a 10.1 state of the raid and talk about how things are shaping up.

It has only been approximately six months since I last talked about our raiding progress. We were almost to Heroic Raszageth. However, we had some team recalibration that coincided with the patch arriving faster than we expected and we could not obtain Ahead of the Curve.

Scalecommander Sarkareth

Fast forward to today. The recalibration of the team was a huge success. So much so that not only did we obtain Ahead of the Curve for Sarkareth, but we’ve cleared it multiple times!

In fact, we are now swapping in some alts! Well done team!

Still Not A Fan of Professions

We are now one content patch and two small patches into this expansion and I’ve only capped two crafting professions (Engineering and Alchemy). I have 15 (of 18) characters at the max level but only two professions. I’m not sure if the hindrance is the quantity of materials needed to earn points or that some of the materials require other professions. Either way, it’s frustrating.

Farming can also be frustrating. Don’t get me wrong, I do love dragonriding but it sucks for farming. If you have deposits or herbs that are too close to each other, you run out of vigor quickly. You will eventually find yourself just sitting on the ground or on a cliff somewhere waiting for your vigor to regenerate (so keep a book handy).

I do like the new gear catch-up mechanics for the alts. If you are diligently participating in the Time Rifts and/or the Dreamsurges you can quickly gear up alts.

10.2 looks exciting as we will be entering the Emerald Dream as a new quest hub. The raid, from a story perspective, sounds cool too as we assist the druids in bringing the new world tree into Azeroth. We will also finally end Fyrakk’s reign of terror.

What did you like about 10.1?

If zombies attack the world, everyone will run and hide. Except for us gamers, of course. We’ve been waiting for this all our lives!
