My Rating:
This movie tells the story of Bobby Dylan, who started with nothing and rose to become one of the most iconic music artists of all time. Bob Dylan rose to stardom long before I was born but that doesn’t mean I’m not familiar with his music.
The Academy Awards are rolling as I’m writing this, I snuck it in just before they aired. While this is a good movie, I don’t think it has enough to take Best Picture. However, I do think Edward Norton’s performance is enough to win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
The movie is a little slow in spots which is common in most biopics. I’m not a Bob Dylan fan and I can probably only name a couple of his songs on one hand. Come to think of it, it’s possible that not a single one of his songs was played in full. I think they were all cut short. Not even “Like A Rolling Stone“, which is surprising given that is where the name of the movie came from.
Regardless, I did enjoy it and I think it’s worth checking out. It’s not bad for a biopic.

“The screen is a magic medium. It has such power that it can retain interest as it conveys emotions and moods that no other art form can hope to tackle.”
