The reading challenge goal was 12 books and I missed it by about 150 pages. If I hadn’t decided to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve I might have finished the last few pages. Oh well, it’s close enough for me to let it go. Be that as it may, here are the eleven books I did manage to finish for the 2023 Goodreads reading challenge (** indicates a book I’ve read before).

Dragonriders and Assassins

2023 was quite a mix of books I’ve read before and a new series (Throne of Glass). I had hoped to have finished the Throne of Glass books before the end of the year but I didn’t even come close. There are 8 books in total, most of them are over 600 pages each. I made it through 5 and I had just started the 6th less than a month before the end of the year.

The Throne of Glass series are the only new books on the list, everything else are books I had previously read. It was really fun reading the Inheritance Cycle again. It’s probably been 20 years since I last read them and it was just as exciting to read them again. I had hoped to read more Dresden books again but I didn’t want to disrupt the Throne of Glass series.

By the way, if you are curious, I recommend everything on this list. All of them! Also, I’m always looking for recommendations so please feel free to drop some in the comments.
