The MMO Times: RIP Snape and Jareth

MMO Times Honors the Late David Bowie and Alan Rickman

David Bowie (left) and Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber (right)

Issue 139: Cancer Sucks! We lost two icons this week to cancer’s wickedness. There was nobody else in the world that would have been a better cast as Snape, although many of us probably remember him better as Hans Gruber; and who could forget Jareth the Goblin King and his “Magic Dance“. May Alan Rickman and David Bowie Rest In Peace. Sadness aside, while we silently mourn these two irreplaceable entertainers lets check out some gaming headlines that will hopefully lighten our moods.

There are a couple of posts that are not directly related to any title but they are crucial aspects of typical game-play, you all know how I like to change things up from time-to-time. There is news about a new game launch this week (a little game called Blade & Soul) and a contagious opinion piece on Star Wars The Old Republic. So while the “white death” (that’s snow for you non-Cincinnatians) keeps you in-doors, check out these headlines. KCGO.

The MMO Times: BB-8 Is Awesome!

bb8-tfaIssue 130: Greetings Gamers! BB-8, the new endearing droid from The Force Awakens trailer, captured the Internet’s heart this week as an app-controlled toy was unveiled. It’s a bit pricey ($150) but its so damn cool that it might be worth it. Hopefully there will still be some available around Christmas (*hint-hint*). Be that as it may, let’s get back to talking about games/gaming. We just had a 3-day weekend which means an extra day to game. What did you play for your extra day of indulgence?

The Labor Day weekend made for a pretty meager list of noteworthy headlines. Some upsetting news for those interested in the Pathfinder Online title; WildStar’s Free-2-Play version has some new updates. I even threw something in here about The Witcher 3. I found some news about a couple of titles we haven’t heard from in a while, and there’s more of course. So while your BB-8 is charging, check these out. KCGO.

The MMO Times: Emerge from the Mists

Issue 48: Hello Gamers, I know there are probably quite a few of you leveling your way through Pandaria (either on a main or you have moved to an alt already). Hopefully you take a break from your panda-induced adventures to take a look at this weeks MMO headlines.

I think the launch of Mists is also the reason for the short post. There hasn’t been too much news going on because everyone is leveling up to 90 or checking out the new Monk class. You can find more information on Blade & Soul in this issue, as well as SWTOR and TSW patches that went live. Read on and game on, friends!

The MMO Times: Remember Theramore!!

Issue 47

Welcome back, Gamers! We are on the brink of the next World of Warcraft expansion and ironically I found nothing really worth reporting about Mists of Pandaria this week. Of course by this point everyone pretty much knows what to expect. It will seem strange that we don’t have a Blizzcon this year, but everyone is going to be too entrenched into the expansion anyway.

This week Aion and SWTOR have made it back into the headlines and more news about The Secret World (especially if you have been waiting for a free trial). There is also more news about NCSoft’s efforts to bring Blade & Soul to the west and more content for DC Universe Online. I’ve also been hearing of more beta invites going out for MechWarrior Online, have you gotten yours? Read on and game on, friends!
