The MMO Times: Gobble, Gobble!

Issue 93: Greetings Gamers! I hope everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving (for those that were celebrating it). Hopefully all of you have recovered from your tryptophan-induced comas. It’s not uncommon for me to be a week late around the major holidays so my apologies for a delayed post but my RL schedule didn’t really allow much research time over the past week. Be that as it may, here are some headlines that you may, or may not have missed. This issue has some shocking World of Warcraft news (which you may already know about if you follow any WoW news). A preview of [… Click to Continue …]

The MMO Times: Happy Birthday, America!!

Issue 81: Happy Independence Day, everyone! In celebration of the birthday of our great nation, let’s set aside our political differences. We should be celebrating the fact that we even have the freedom to express our beliefs. Also, be safe when you go out there to blow things up! Just because there are no repercussions when we blow things up in our games doesn’t mean that translates to real life. You can’t game if you lose a hand because you weren’t safe! This is getting an early posting since I may not be available to provide any additional headlines that appear over the next couple [… Click to Continue …]

The MMO Times: Scrapped!!

Issue 76: No, I’m not scrapping The MMO Times, its just a headline that encapsulates the big story in this issue. Blizzard seems to be going through some rough times. First down another 1million+ WoW subscriptions, then Diablo III auction house issues and now Titan. You can read more about what has happened with Titan (if you haven’t heard yet) later in this issue. Titan seems to be the only thing folks are talking about because details about the 5.4 patch are coming at a slow trickle. Fear not though gamers, there are plenty of other things happening with our other favorite titles, current and [… Click to Continue …]

The MMO Times: Thanks For Your Sacrifice!

Issue 75: Happy Memorial Day, Gamers. While spending your three-day weekend “pwning noobs”, raiding or questing, please remember our service men and women who gave their lives so that we may have the freedom to pwn noobs. Please take some time this weekend to come out from behind the computer or gaming console, go to a cook out, visit a cemetery of fallen soldiers, and remember those that fought for this country. A lot of patches went live last week but the one that stands out to me the most was the WoW patch 5.3, which apparently has had several hot fixes since it went live. In [… Click to Continue …]

The MMO Times: Patch Pandemonium

Issue 74: The next patch for World of Warcraft, 5.3, did not go live this week. Based on the release pattern of the content patches this expansion I would expect the final Mists of Pandaria patch, 5.4, to be here around August (when Garrosh gets what he deserves). In the meantime, several other games are patching in new content, a few of which are available now! I’m not going to mention everything that patched this week because then you might not read the rest of this post. There’s no need for any Jedi Mind Tricks, though I know you are “dye-ing” to know what’s new in [… Click to Continue …]

The MMO Times: Sha of Happiness Edition

Issue 65: Hello again, Gamers! The past couple of weeks it seemed horribly difficult to find interesting news to provide but it has all changed the past couple of days. Between Sony’s unveiling of the Playstation 4 and PAX just around the corner, there was no shortage of announcements, new features and trailers. We have some more news on SWTOR and Marvel Heroes to check out, exciting news if you are a PS3 and Diablo III fan, and the return of BlizzCon! Now that Bungie has separated from Micro$oft, they are entering the MMO arena … no, its not another Halo MMO. Check it out! (If [… Click to Continue …]
